How do I know when someone has Cholera?
Recognising cholera symptoms early can save lives. Symptoms typically appear within 2 hours to 5 days after infection and can include:
Severe Diarrhoea
Profuse, watery diarrhoea is the most common symptom of cholera
Dehydration
Rapid loss of body fluids can lead to dehydration, causing sunken eyes, dry mouth, and extreme thirst.
Vomiting
Frequent vomiting is another common symptom of cholera.
Leg Cramps
Leg cramps are also common due to the rapid loss of body fluids and salts.
